  • Q: How do I contact El Club?

  • Q: What is your COVID policy?

Effective February 1st 2022, covid policy is administered on a by show basis. If the artist requires  either proof of a full series of COVID-19 vaccination, or proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken in the prior 72 hours EL CLub will adhere.. Patrons must have a completed COVID-19 vaccination card with their final dose at least fourteen days prior to the event, or a negative COVID test result within 72 hours of the event. Proof of vaccination may include a physical card or a photo of a complete vaccination card that matches the patron ID.

Proof of a negative test may be a printed or digital test result that matches the patron ID. Children under 12, who cannot be vaccinated, can show a negative test to attend. People with a medical condition or closely held religious belief that prevents vaccination can attend with proof of a recent negative coronavirus test.

If you are not vaccinated, we encourage you to wear a mask even if you’ve received a negative COVID test in the last 72 hours.

El Club will email and text ticket holders in advance if the artist has a covid policy in place.

  • Q: Where can I park?

El Club has street parking available, but it is limited. It is encouraged to take advantage of ride sharing or carpool. As a good rule of thumb,  please be mindful to take all your belongings out of your vehicle. El Club is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items.

  • Q: Do you allow smoking?

El Club is a completely smoke-free establishment. We have a large patio outside where you can smoke + relax (in warmer months).

  • Q: Can I rent El Club for a private party, birthday party, CD Release Party or other event?

Yes. El Club is available for almost any use, for any occasion. We’ve serviced seated banquets to small birthday parties. The facility has several spaces (both large and small) to accommodate every need. Rental rates vary depending on the day of the week and time of year, as well as a few other factors. Please contact [email protected]  and put the words ROOM RENTAL in the subject line for more information.

  • Q: Does El Club have seating?

All shows at El Club are generally standing room only unless otherwise noted. There is seating at the back of the venue and limited seating along the bar of the club, that is first-come first served. Please be considerate to offer the seating to those in need. El Club does do some fully seated shows, as well as cabaret style shows – these situations are noted in the show information. If a show is seated, the seating is always general admission and first-come, first served. However, don’t fret, every seat at El Club is great. Please do not move the tables and chairs. Their location often corresponds to egress and traffic flow so there’s a rhyme to our reason.

  • Q: Does El Club serve alcohol?

Of course. We have a large beer and liquor selection as well as several wines and frozen drinks.

  • Q: Where can I buy tickets to shows?

Tickets for El Club shows can be purchased at the El Club Box Office or online via our website (there’s a link next to each show to buy tickets). El Club Box Office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 1PM until 5pm, or any night we have a show (which is often). There is no service charge for tickets purchased at the El Club Box Office, however prices tend to go up on “Day of Show” tickets.

The service charges for online slightly vary depending on ticket price, delivery method, and number of tickets.

  • Q: I ordered tickets, when can I pick them up?

Your tickets are sent directly to your e-mail. You will scan your barcode at the door for entry to the show. If you ordered tickets online and did not receive an e-mail, please contact our box office (see contact info).

  • Q: Are tickets refundable? What if a show is rescheduled or cancelled?

Tickets are not refundable, all sales are final. If a show is rescheduled the new date will be immediately posted to this website and your ticket for the original show will be honored at the rescheduled date. If a show is cancelled and no make up date is announced then the ticket is refundable (less service charges unfortunately — our ticketing company’s policy, not ours); the refund will happen automatically if you purchased with a credit card, otherwise if you paid cash you need to bring your ticket back to the place of purchase (El Club Box Office) for a refund. Cash refunds are available for 30 days.

    TREAT TICKETS LIKE CASH

Lost or stolen tickets will not be replaced.

  • Q: Do you have an ATM?

    No.

  • Q: Do you have a Coat Check?

Yes, during the colder months. We will also check in other items (bags, purses, merch, etc.).

    It’s $4/item.

  • Q: Are there any hotels nearby if I want to stay the night?

There are several great hotels within the area of El Club.

Try Trumbull + Porter, ALoft + Holiday Inn Downtown.

  • Q: Does El Club serve food?

We work with local businesses to provide food on busier nights. We have anything from, El Rodeo & Torta Express to Sicily’s.

We’re always looking for new people to serve food at El Club! Contact [email protected] for more information.

  • Q: What are the age requirements for a show? I’m under 18 and want to come to a show?

All shows at El Club are typically all-ages unless otherwise noted.

  • Q: Can I take photos? Record audio or video?

El Club maintains a no flash rule on photography, beyond that, the specific photo/audio/video request of each artist is honored. Most artists prohibit pro-photo rigs (SLR cameras, etc.), as well as, any video and/or audio recording.

  • Q: I’m a parent and worried about sending my kid to an all ages show there?

Only you can decide whether El Club is the right environment for your child. We encourage first timers to attend a show with their kids to decide for themselves. We find that after that initial visit most parents are comfortable allowing their kids to attend all-ages shows at El Club.

  • Q: Is El Club safe?

El Club is a rehabbed facility and compliant with all of the latest Life Safety codes. Here are few things to ease your mind: the entire building has an advanced fire alarm system that calls the Fire Dept at the first sign of smoke or fire and finally the building is on the ground level and has ample exits from various points in the space to the outside. Also, we never allow pyrotechnics at El Club. We take safety VERY seriously and designed the space accordingly.

  • Q: How do I get my band on a bill at El Club?

El Club primarily books national bands or local bands that have a following. Opening slots are limited (most nationals bring their own support) or reserved for bands that we feel are working hard in Detroit and have developed a following.

  • Q: Is El Club looking for interns?

A: Yes, El Club is seeking interns to work in our Detroit office!

All candidates must live in the Detroit area and be available 12-20 hours per week starting mid-February and ending mid-August.

The internship will focus on marketing, event, and venue operations for El Club. Tasks will include using Photoshop/video editing software to make flyers and other promotional assets, writing promotional copy for Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, distributing/hanging posters, ticket counts, artist research, and more.

All intern candidates should have a laptop capable of running Adobe Suite, excellent research skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with the local music scene. The ability to gain college credit for the internship is strongly preferred.

For consideration, please email us your resume, a list of your top five albums and top five tracks of 2022 so far, and a cover letter detailing your reasons for wanting to work with El Club. Please include any relevant experience and your availability from February to August.

Please send all submissions to [email protected] with the subject line “EL CLUB INTERNSHIP 2022”.

We look forward to hearing from you!
